2021: National Program on phasing out the ozone-depleting substances

We are pleased to inform you that the government of Uzbekistan took further step in fulfiling its obligations under the Montreal protocol, which means strengthening the efforts in protecting the ozone layer, thus helping to build green future for next generation.

By the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministries the National Program on phasing out the ozone-depleting substances (#126, 09.03.2021) was approved.
The National Program sets goals and strategic directions to stop the use of ozone-depleting substances (ODS). According to the program, the Cabinet of Ministers ensures the implementation of a unified state policy in the field of regulation of ODS consumption.
The national program is aimed at the following main areas:
- Establishment strict control over import and export of ODS and eventually ban their use in the country;
- Establishment of a database on import/export of ODS and products containing them;
- Establishment of new ODS re-use centers.
