Workshop on International Experience in Management of Waste of Ozone-Depleting Substances (ODS) was organized in Tashkent on 2 March 2017, which united the representatives of various state bodies and agencies, public and private companies, which are involved in the process of management of ozone-depleting substances.
Within the framework of the event a presentation was delivered by the international consultant, Mr. Alexander Shaykin, on international experience in waste management. In addition, the workshop became a platform for development of recommendations by the participants on five key issue areas: management of waste of ODS, including their collection, storage and disposal; management of ODS data; Capacity building; Legislation; And financing the process of management of waste of ODS.
It should be noted that the recommendations, which were developed within the framework of this workshop, will become part of the national concept on management of waste of ODS in the Republic of Uzbekistan, i.e. the concept, which is being developed in close cooperation with UNDP and State Committee for Nature Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
